I Spy is a weekly segment that will preview any new book (and occasionally movie or other random item) that I think is noteworthy or am intrigued by. Mostly it will be books to watch out for! New and exciting upcoming reads by new authors and old alike. So normally I post these on Saturdays. However, on the account that I'm going to be entering the boonies of my home state for Easter weekend to spend time with relatives, more likely than not I will not have internet connection. So this post is a day early! (I apologize for the massive amounts of posts I've been doing.) So this weeks I Spy is Pegasus by Robin McKinley! Robin McKinley is one of my favorite authors so I'm super psyched for her new novel!
Synopsis: Because of a thousand-year-old alliance between humans and pegasi, Princess Sylviianel is ceremonially bound to Ebon, her own pegasus, on her twelfth birthday. The two species coexist peacefully, despite the language barriers separating them. Humans and pegasi both rely on specially-trained Speaker magicians as the only means of real communication.
But it’s different for Sylvi and Ebon. They can understand each other. They quickly grow close—so close that their bond becomes a threat to the status quo—and possibly to the future safety of their two nations.
I think this novel is going to be geared more towards a younger audience but that sure is not going to stop me from reading it! I adored McKinley's last book Chalice and of course Sunshine is one of my all time favorite vampire novels. Did I mention I also adore Pegasus's? Horses with wings? Prettiful! McKinley always does an amazing job of creating a captivating world full of magic and wonder. She always has me hooked from the first page. I cannot wait for this to be released! Plus the cover is just soooo cool! I'm geeking out again, but hey, can you blame me? :D
